Can I stay at Poppies if I'm younger than 18?
Anyone below 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult.
Anyone under 18yrs must be authorised by their legal guardian/s to stay alone. Get an authorisation form here.

Can I bring a baby/child?
Yes, however there is no space for a baby bed.
Children under 2 years may share a bed with two adults.
If your child is older than two and there are two adults, one adult must book an additional room.

Where can I store the stroller?
We're able to store a collapsible stroller for you. Just ask a team member for help with this.

Can I bring my pet?
We wish you could, but space is limited + it may impact other guests. Friendly dogs are welcome in the Lobby Café though!

Is breakfast included in the rate?
We serve breakfast in our lobby café from 8.00 but this is not included in the rate.

Sure! We'll pour you a coffee, pack up some fresh pastries + send you on your way.

What is there to eat, drink + snack on?
Our café menu changes seasonally, but expect breakfast, lunch and bar snacks. There are also well-stocked vending machines for your convenience.

Payment is always done in advance to secure your booking.

We accept Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Maestro
+ V-Pay debit cards, as well as several international online money transfer systems.
Please note that we do not accept any cash on the property.

How does the tourist/city tax work?
The Amsterdam municipal tourist tax (city tax) is 12.5% of the room price. This is a standard rate in Amsterdam.

Depending on your booking, this amount will either be included with your advanced room payment, or you will need to pay separately at the hotel when you check-in.
Always read your booking payment terms + conditions carefully or book directly with us to avoid nasty surprises!

Tip: don't confuse the municipal tourist tax with VAT or BTW in the Netherlands.

Can I get an invoice for my stay?
Yes, if you book directly through our website. Just ask!
If you book through a third-party website, you'll have to request an invoice from them + they often won't provide one.

Where can I park my car?
We have paid parking in the neighbourhood at a very reasonable rate for Amsterdam. Our street parking costs €1.60 per hour from 9.00 - 19.00 Mon-Sun or opt for a cheaper day rate.
Parking is free overnight.

Where can I buy public transport tickets?
You can buy train tickets at Schipol or any other station from the ticket machine. GVB tram + bus tickets can be bought from the conductor or you can use Apple Pay to check in + out.

Do you have twin beds?
All of rooms have king sized beds and one large double duvet. We can provide an extra single duvet on request.

Bedding + allergies
Our pillows are anti-allergenic + anti-bacterial made from eco-down, a synthetic that feels like down. Our duvets are also anti-allergenic + dust mite resistant.

We have Chromecast Smart TVs so you can access your favourite apps or login on your own device + stream away.

Can I eat a takeaway meal in my room?
The rooms at Poppies are not configured for dining in so we can't allow take-away meals to be consumed in the rooms. However, our Lobby Café is open from 8.00-22.00 daily if you get hungry.

Yes, these are available upon request. Please ask a team member to arrange this for you.
